Plot Summary: From the best seller novel book, The Lovely Bones, by Alice Sebold, comes a great movie where a fourteen-year old girl was being murdered and raped by a neighbor. Susie Salmon is on her way home from school when her neighbor, George Harvey, ask him to stop and wanted to show something in the cornfield. Because Susie knows that Harvey is their neighbor and everyone knows him, she go with him. Unfortunately this man is a serial killer and rapist in their town.

Harvey raped and killed Susie. Susie is taken quickly to heaven. She meet Franny in heaven and told her that she can do whatever she want, and she ask to create her heaven in the image of her hometown, and it was granted. But the what she really want is to go back to earth with her family, which is so impossible. From the heaven, Susie can see her family from heaven. She can witness all the things her families and friends are doing. She can also see from heaven what Harvey is doing.

Susie’s sister, Lindsay wants to know the suspect behind her sister’s death. And she has a feeling that Harvey kills Susie. From heaven, Susie watches Lindsay and she wanted to give her an idea where her body is. Lindsay attempt to get some evidence from harvey’s house. While she is already in the house, Harvey heard a footstep in his room and ran immediately, and he saw Lindsay. She got a drawing book. From that moment,  he is haunted by dreams of Lindsay. Together with the policemen, they are trying to figure out who the suspect is. They suspected Ray (the only boy who Susie kissed before she died) but eventually declared not. Another suspect appear, Ruth (last person touches Susie before she died and can see dead people) but also declared not guilty. The only person who they have a strong feelings in killing Susie is Harvey. Susie cannot do anything but to watch them as they are looking for the murderer.

The Lovely Bones movie is a drama film with a great story. With a power cast Oscar nominee Mark Wahlberg and Oscar winner Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon star along with Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Oscar niminee Saoirse Ronan.
